Also, I've been planning to travel to
meet Ms Gardner when she meets with the chapter, but realised I still do
not know when/where that meeting was intended to take place; has the
date/event either fallen through or been more precisely defined?
Sue Gardner will be in Toronto in early February and can attend a Wikimedia Canada Meet-Up mid-day or the afternoon of Sunday, February 6. It is common when Sue travels that we ask local communities of Wikimedians to gather to provide Sue the ability to share information about the Foundation and to meet the individuals who are behind Wikipedia. In many cases local groups of volunteers locally organize these meet-ups. I sent emails out to this list several months ago asking if anyone would be interested to organize a meet up around Sue's visit and no one replied.
I am considering organizing the logistics for a meet-up myself, however with my current travel and work load I am unable to focus on this until mid to late December at the earliest.
Please let me know if WM Canada is willing to organize their own meet-up. I am happy to provide resources and support to whoever manages the development of the meet-up.
