Wayne, we are happy to have you as a member of the chapter. Please try to stay focussed on the positive ideas you can present moving forward and lose focus on little technical details such as as where we host the mailing list.
I know it is tempting to pick at my statement and ask questions such as who are we and why do they support the idea. The short story is that we stopped using the mailing list because we could not manage it. We would be everyone who hasn't posted a single message to this mailing list in well over 2 months now. Bence was speaking to me last night and asked if we could set up a Google group that he and others could follow. I explained to him that we put our announcements on the
http://wikimedia.ca web site. He said that he preferred to receive emails when something new was gong on as it was a push approach versus a pull method where he would have to keep checking in. I took this as a constructive criticism and worked with Bence to set up this new group.
I announced the new group on this list to try and not exclude anyone who is not a member, who has been following this list. It is my intention when I get a chance with Benoit to send out a message in French and English to every member announcing the member's mailing list. I encourage you to join as I encourage anyone else using this list. We will be making our future discussions and announcements on the new list.
