Dear Wikimedians in New England,

The 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees election is coming soon, this is the time when four seats of the Board of Trustees are elected. In September the Board is expected to appoint its new members.

The Board has asked us, the Board Election Facilitation Team, to take care that all communities in the movement are aware of the elections. With the help of more than 70 election volunteers from all over the world, we are reaching out to many communities already.

A major step in this is having as many candidates as possible running for the Board, especially from underrepresented groups. That is why we are getting to you: we ask for your support and help about that very matter. The Call for Candidates is up now and we would kindly ask you to provide the announcement along your channels - newsletters, blogs, wikis, mailings and community platforms as the final week of it is starting today.

The announcement is here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2021/2021-06-09/Call_for_Candidates

Many translations are already available, if one suits your needs, please feel free to pick it up. In case a translation is not available, incomplete or not sufficient, we would appreciate you fixing it. If you are doing a new translation, please feel free to do it on meta, so the landing page is available in your language.

Though we do not expect this to take more than an hour, we know that we are asking a lot. Be assured, that we would not do this if it weren’t for our wish to make all communities a part of this as much as they deserve. We hope that you can agree on its importance and would be glad to hear from you.

Best regards,
