These are both far away -- but within reach of Acela, I guess....

Subject: [Wmfall] Two museum hackathons that might interest you in the eastern US

Hi everyone -

Please share the details about these two hackathons. And I encourage you to attend if you find yourself on the East Coast of the United States:

November 16-17, Smithsonian Luce Center Hackathon, Washington, D.C.
http://lucehackathon.eventbrite.com/

January 24-26, Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, MD
http://thewalters.org/events/eventdetails.aspx?e=2711

The latter will have more of a focus on open source, as much of the content utilized and unlocked involves the content that the Walters released openly to the world last year in a major content donation to Commons.[1] This is their second hackathon!

I'm colleagues with both of the organizers, so if you're interested in more in depth involvement, let me know!

Sarah
