Belayet Bhai,
I will try to attend. Do we know the list of attendees from the side of a2i. Presence of someone from the senior technology personnel would be vitally useful. As the meeting will be about synergy of ideology at the same time convergence of technology.
There is one interesting topic, district info portals are initiated for all the districts and some of them are already generating good amount of content. Most of the sites have usage rules (see link:
http://goo.gl/1biMd) . Which says the information local to the site are property of respective district administration. On the same page, it allows any visitor to take print of the content without change. On the bottom of the page is says "
স্বত্বাধিকার: মন্ত্রিপরিষদ বিভাগ ".
No clear guideline is given about if it is permissible for other websites using content and information from these sites. As a2i is involved as planning and technology partner, wikipedia can request the authority to improve their policy so that information published by the government can be re-used as open content at other places.
Most modern government releases information on the .gov websites as copyright free public domain information. An example can be (
http://www.whitehouse.gov/copyright) Which uses creative commons licence. I guess as wiki we do have combined bargaining power to help shaping government policies where they do need all the help they can get.
Thanks
Farid
