I just saw your email on the ilug-calinfo mailing list. IIRC, I think Tinu had posted about the intended Kolkata meetup on wikimediaIndia-l about a couple of weeks back, but was too busy at that time to react.
I tried calling your phone number, but did not get a response. I can help out with the venue - there are 2 - 3 distinct options that I can possibly approach for giving the space free of charge, including the West Bengal State Central Library.
