ESEAP Conference Program Out Soon

Wikimedia Australia is hosting the 2022 ESEAP conference in Sydney this November featuring speakers from across the East, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific regions. Keep your eyes peeled on our news page for the program launch in coming weeks, and further details on streaming sessions. More information on ESEAP 2022 is available here.


Wikidata Fellowship 2023

Wikimedia Australia and Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand have launched the 2023 Wikidata Fellowship program offering three fellowships of $1,000. Applications will open in January so there’s plenty of time to start thinking up your project. For more information and examples of previous projects, see our Wikidata Fellowships page.


Wikimedia Research Fund

Apply for between USD2,000 and USD50,000 to run research on or about Wikimedia projects. Although this is a US based project, it is open to residents of Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. Applications close November 15, 2022 and those interested should read the Wikimedia Research Fund page for more information.

Aus Music Month: An Introduction to Wikipedia - Saturday 12 November

Discover how Australian music lives on Wikipedia at Darling Square Library, Sydney. At this free event you will learn how to edit Wikipedia and improve content related to Australian music. No experience needed. Just sign up for a Wikipedia account in advance and bring along your laptop and connect to the library’s free wifi! Bookings are essential and can be made here.


WOW 2022 Worlds of Wikimedia Conference - Thursday 17 November - Friday 18 

The upcoming Worlds of Wikimedia (WOW) conference program is out and bookings are now available. Across two days, presentations will be held on Trove, using social media for activism, gender inequity, First Nations knowledge, and more, all relating to Wikipedia. WOW 2022 is being held at University of Sydney and online. See the WOW 2022 page for bookings and further information.


Wikipedia Online Drop In Sessions

Our online drop in sessions have been extended into November. Join us online Thursday 3 and 10 November, 11am-1pm AEDT and our volunteers will be available to answer your Wikipedia questions. Further details, Zoom links, and dates are available here.
