Draft Movement Charter available soon
The Movement Charter Drafting Committee is happy to announce that the full
draft of the Movement Charter will be published on April 2nd, 2024. This

2023 A year of moving and shaking for Wikimedia Australia
Wikimedia Australia achieved many new and exciting things in 2023,
including participating in Wikimania and Wikidata international
conferences, a new round of partner projects and our first face to face
Australian community conference, since 2019! Wikimedia Australia President,
Amanda Lawrence, provides a wrap up of 2023 - the year that we got back out

2024 Partner Projects Announced
Wikimedia Australia is delighted to announce the successful allocation of
grant funding for partner projects in 2024. This round of funding will
support the placement of four Wikimedians in Residence at diverse
organisations including:

announced that Wikimania will be held from August 7th to 10th, 2024,

taking place in person in Tallinn, Estonia, from May 3rd to May 5th, 2024.

Flickypedia - seamless CC image sharing from Flickr to WikiCommons
A new partnership between the Flickr Foundation and the Wikimedia
Foundation will develop a new software tool for streamlined sharing of
CC-licensed images from Flickr to Wikimedia Commons. This collaboration
strengthens the visual resources on Wikipedia by harnessing Flickr's vast

Announcing the locations of Wikimania 2025 and 2026
A cradle of history, biodiversity, art and architecture, and a hub for
intergovernmental collaboration, technology, and so much more, East Africa
is full of possibilities for Wikimedia. Wikimania 2025 will be hosted
by a dynamic
collaboration

volunteers and affiliates in East Africa. The 2026 Wikimania will be hosted
in Paris by Wikimédia France in partnership with WikiFranca

movement. This will be the first Wikimania in France and a first for the
