20 isnt really that ambitious, the results are measurable irregardless of it being 1 or 100 though I suggest an initial 20 articles that are already on en plus 5 that arent for each language community participating so as to ensure that theres sufficient work to build the momentum the worse thing to happen would be for keen people becoming idle to quickly, losing interest and moving off to other projects, the lists dont need to be expanded until they are being worked through.

Well, to be fair, we don't have to plough through the entire list in three months.  We could segment the list so that one block can be done within three months, then another block, then another block, etc.  Either way, we can tweak this so that it's doable, but we should make sure that this is a high-impact project, hence the ambitious ceiling.

Hi,

On the list archives -- OK, though honestly I'm not sure whether I'm prepared to plow through all the archives.

On the cultural exchange programme -- 20 articles per country seems really ambitious, especially if the point was to have some tangible results within three months. I mean, let's say only China, South Korea and the Philippines nominate 20 articles each. That means our friend from Israel who offered to translate these articles for the Hebrew Wikipedia will have 60 articles to translate. I would suggest about two to three articles for a start, and no more than five per country. Finish these first, and then nominate some more.

Cheers,
Jack
