Ks aka 98, one of the core organizers of this event, regretfully stated that there will be no offer of scholarship; time restriction did not allow them to prepare that.
But cheer up guys, WMF is expanding its grants programs. We will find events in Japan with scholarships in the not too distant future!

もともとイベント自体が急に決まったのと、計画している頃は、asian wikimedian meetupのことは知らなかったので許してください。
日本語は言語として孤立しているので、どうしてもドメスティックなものになりがちだ。アウトリーチ活動に積極的な人材も、ごく限られている。発表者との交渉は慣れているんだけど、通訳や翻訳の手配となると、費用の面でも労力の面でも難しいところがある。
