For those who handle their own accommodation for Wikimania, I suggest to book early, because around the same days in Paris there are some large events which may increase demand (including a BTS concert).
Prices are not (yet) skyrocketing, from what I've seen so far, but some hotels now only accept prepaid bookings. Locals can probably provide better advice.
