Sorry, but it cheers me up to know I won’t be the only one hanging around in the airport for a while. The fact that I’ve over an hour to wait for the bus, and to clear visa/customs requirements, makes the “how long from T2 to T1” question a little less pressing.

For other points to – belatedly – note, this list is not detailed on http://lists.wikimedia.org, I would not have known about it had Majorly not told me.

For the first day of the conference, I’d like to know exactly how early I can get access to the facilities. Wikinews does a daily print edition, courtesy of Craig Spurrier (also attending), and I would like to run off copies of this and make them available to attendees as they turn up and register. I’ve mentioned this in the past and when I’ve finished with this morning’s client I will be haranguing my fellow Wikinewsies to make sure there are a good number of stories on Wednesday and Thursday to go in the print edition. I will also be bringing my notepad and MP3 recorder to make sure that from Alexandria I can write up reports on the first day. I am taking it for granted that WiFi will be available. Organisers and WMF staff, please let me know if there is anywhere I can find you to get soundbites/quotes for my reporting on the event.

For an idea of the sort of coverage I’d like to see, refer to the following URL

http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Conference_Netherlands_2007_held_on_wikis_and_education

I will not have a camera at my disposal, so other attendees who are taking and uploading photos please let me know where to find them.

Brian

I'd have to say, "consider this an attempt to book it" J

I guess, based on what you said about your arrival time, that means you'll be arriving and looking for the guy in the Wikinews T-shirt.

Brian.

I am arriving at 16:10, so won't be able to get the 16:00 bus. I'll have to get the next one which is 20:00.
