Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I did not receive a scholarship to attend Wikimania, and I’m not able to cover the costs on my own, including accommodation and other expenses. So attending in person may not be possible for me.
For those who handle their own accommodation for Wikimania, I suggest to
book early, because around the same days in Paris there are some large
events which may increase demand (including a BTS concert).
Prices are not (yet) skyrocketing, from what I've seen so far, but some
hotels now only accept prepaid bookings. Locals can probably provide
better advice.
