Wikimedia Deutschland did it once when Sue was visiting the General
Assembly, basically they rented two translators + a huge case of
headsets. The translators translated de - en / en - de - so both
presenter and audience could talk in their language / ask questions in
their own language. It worked quite efficient, the technical
requirements were minimal, the two translators shared the duty, each of
them did ~ 30 minutes and then the other took over, so they had breaks
to stay focused and concentrated.
I guess a whole day-rate had been charged by the two translators plus
the rent of the equipment (which was a third-party).
Someone from WMDE reading this who could have a look in the files
(October 2011) to check the costs?
