I think you can put the estimated cost of the flight, and still answer "no" I did not attend Wikimania 2011.
To answer Casey's question, the survey is unofficial and not covered by WMF or WikiDC privacy policies.
Anecdotally, I've heard feedback that the partial scholarships didn't work so great for everyone, and would be happy for more feedback/suggestions. But answer the survey, knowing it's not covered by our privacy policies but if you trust Maarten... (I do)

On the
Wikimania wiki we have some discussions on the best way to organize the "partial scholarships". We want to prevent that people from countries far away from the venue (Australia, Canada, thirld world countries, ...) stay home because the partial scholarship does not help them enough. We don't want them all to request a full scholarship, either.
Thanks for looking into these questions. I'm very interested in feedback on how we might make the scholarships work better next time.
