I was very sorry that real-world scheduling conflicts prevented me from
attending the Wikimania conference in Buenos Aires last month. I was
disappointed that I did not have the opportunity to meet and interact with
many of my fellow Wikipedians/Wikimedians worldwide.
For those who may be interested, the talk I had planned to give at this
year's conference -- and hope I will have the opportunity to give at a
future Wikimania -- would have been similar to the talk I gave a month
earlier at the 2009 Wikiconference New York. The video of that talk has now
been posted and is available at:
http://www.archive.org/details/nywikiconf_newyorkbrad_26july2009
The (somewhat pompous) title of the talk is "Wikipedia, the Internet, and
the Future of Privacy."
(Later in the day, there was a session where I answered some questions
regarding my talk. The video for the Q&A is not yet available, but I will
post the link to it when it is.)
I hope this may be of interest and again, I hope to meet many of you at a
future Wikimania. (And now I am off to today's New York meet-up in a few
minutes.)
