I am relaying these information here since I have received some
requests for assistance on this matter.

You may have heard about the art installation "The Floating Piers"[1]
by Bulgarian artist Christo, which is open from June,18th to July, 3rd
on Lake Iseo not too far (~ 2 hours by train) from here and you may be
planning to visit it maybe after Wikimania.

The installation is having a huge success and some limitations are
being enforced by authorities to ensure the safety of visitors.

In particular Trenord websites (trains in Lombardy) says[2]:
« ... [the Floating Piers] will be closed for maintenance from 24:00
on Thu, Jun 23rd to 07:30 [AM] on Fri, 24th»

Please note that *besides the strike* (from 21:00 on Jun 23rd, to
21:00 on Fri, June 24th) , the trains indicated in this page have been
*eliminated*:

Floating Piers" authorities could order the temporary suppression of

In the periods of greatest access the access times may require long
wait, even in the range of hours.

WE INVITE ALL VISITORS TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE ANNOUNCEMENTS GIVEN AT
