Ed, "some” is an understatement, or heck, worse.  A substantial number of talks are still marked as open, including mine.  It appears to me that none of those articles you said were marked for rejection were even marked to begin with, as I’m glancing at all these submissions right now and if I don’t see an accepted template on the top of the page, they’re still marked as open.
