I was there, took pictures and love it. This is an absolutely lovely present to Wikimania and Esino Lario! Please forward my appreciation and thanks to your brother. /Manuel -- sent from mobile phoneAm 25.06.2016 9:33 nachm. schrieb "claudia.garad" <claudia.garad(a)wikimedia.at>: > > > Dear Wikimaniacs, > > this not Burning Man but we have a burning Wikipedia globe at the Tent tonight. > > My little brother is a craftsman specialized on metal work and he designed a Wikipedia fire basket for Wikimania and as gift for the people of Esino Lario. > > We'll light the basket at around 10pm so stop by at some point tonight and enjoy some campfire atmosphere when it gets chilly. :-) > > See you at the Tent later! > Claudia > > > Von meinem Samsung Gerät gesendet.

Re: [Wikimania-l] Say MiLLE GRAZIE to all Wikimania volunteers
by Barbara Fischer 30 Jun '16

Hi folks, just making sure - returned safely home?! I hope so. Please remember all these fine moments we had last week thanks to all these wonderful volunteers. We hope if everybody sends a real postcard, maybe the Comune de Esino decides to make an exhibition on all the cards or a collage and send it to all the youngsters and adults that participated. I am sure they will, if the number of cards arriving will be relevant! See attachment for example. Give work to the postman!! Gong bath videotape?
by Deborah Tankersley 29 Jun '16

29 Jun '16

Hi all, I was part of the 'gong bath' demonstration <https://wikimania2016.wikimedia.org/wiki/Evening_programme/I_bagni_di_Gong>, on this past Sunday evening in Esino Lario during Wikimania. There was a videotaping of it and I was curious if it has been uploaded yet, or will be uploaded somewhere? We had that huge storm with hail and lightning and thunder going on at the same time and I was wondering if all those sounds combined with the gongs were captured, because it was really cool to experience it! Cheers, Deb -- Deb Tankersley Product Manager, Discovery IRC: debt Wikimedia Foundation

by Barbara Fischer 28 Jun '16

28 Jun '16

Dear list reader (please forward, endorse and translate) yesterday evening we sat together and marvelled the splendid spirit of all the volunteers that made this Wikimania to a jubilee event! Than WikiAnika came up with a brilliant idea because it easy and symbolic at the same time: When you come home, sit down and take your time to wirte a *real postcard *put a stamp on it, say mille gracie in your language and sen it to following address: Wikimania c/o Comune de Esino P.za Pietro Pensa I- 23825 Esino Lario (LC) Italy lets send them a thousand postcards from all over the world!! kindly yours Barbara Fischer Kuratorin für Kulturpartnerschaften Wikimedia Deutschland e.V. | NEU: Tempelhofer Ufer 23-24 | 10963 Berlin Tel. Sorry but just for confirmation: big Apple is at the train station or downtown? 2016. jún. 27. 23:49 ezt írta ("Harry Mitchell" <hjmwiki(a)gmail.com>): Mike Peel, Chris McKenna, and I are staying in Milan. We'd love to meet up. There's a great big Apple outside Centrale station that could be a good meeting point. Meet there say between 12 and 1230? I have a "Wikipedia editor" hat so I'll wear that and we'll try and wear Wikipedia / Wikimania t shirts. Hi Folks, Is there anyone who is leaving to Milan on Tuesday morning from Esino/Verenna? I would be so happy to be accompanied with some of you on the train trip. I've never been to Milan before, it would be nice to discover it with fellow Wikimedians. :-) Let me know, if you are interested. Thanx,

Hi Wikimaniacs, I just checked into Hotel Garda, and would be glad to meet up with any fellow wiki-folk for a walk around Milan this afternoon, maybe starting in front of Central Station noon or 1pm. Anyone up for it? Thanks, Pharos
