Hello everyone, despite all the difficulties that we have encountered in the past two years (and this year), we are preparing this year's competition in Russia. For long time I did not report it openly, because the fact of announcement is an invitation to criticism, and it can kill our little team, so please support us with a few words :)
Anastasia, That is great. Considering a fact that in 2012 we made WLM in our country in 3 people (organizing team) and we ended 7th when speaking about number of pictures, that is not a problem that your team might be small. Very glad to hear Russia is in the game again! I saw that there were a lot of efforts done to get the lists on Wikiepdia (with plenty of work ahead of course), but we're always happy to have Russia joining! It's a lot of work for a small team, and I hope some more people will join efforts.
It was of course also great meeting you and others in Moscow recently - hopefully we can keep the spirit from that alive. Please let us know if there's any way we can be of assistance to the Russian competition.
Best, Lodewijk

Could you please indicate where these efforts have been applied? Despite being involved at some point in the past, I am not aware of any work on the lists after April 2012, I was not able to locate the traces of them by searching, and in 2012 local Russian organizers stated on several occasions that they do not need the lists and discouraged their creation.
Cheers Yaroslav
Sure, they are published in the project namespace (maybe some day they'll move elsewhere, but that is a local community thing), listed on https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82:%D0%92%D0... .
I don't know if all the lists are complete, but this is a major improvement over the past years. This way, the Russian lists are also included in the tools internationally being developed. The already existing images have not yet been added yet ( see https://toolserver.org/~erfgoed/api/api.php?action=statistics&stcountry=... for stats) but anyone could do that, and that doesn't have to happen before the contest per se.
Best, Lodewijk

Great, thanks. Apparently, they have changed their mind.

And in case you change your mind, or others would like to help: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82:%D0%92%D0...
21319 images to choose from to illustrate this wonderful new lists. Looking on the map of monuments is really fun now. If you go from the Netherlands you can just keep going east...... :-)
