Hi everyone,
thanks to the work by many national coordinators and Romaine, Wiki Loves Monuments is launching again! I'd like to give a quick update on the status.
We have currently some 49 participating countries https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2018/Participating_countries. There are five countries that were planning to participate but are not ready yet, and may still join the ranks. If you can reach out to them, and give them a hand - they may appreciate it. These countries are Brazil, Denmark, Ghana, Mexico and Tanzania. I hope all five will still be able to join us. If so, that would also mean that we will have a record number of participating countries!

Hi I have a question can we somehow include photograph of monuments of those countries who are either not participating in wiki loves monuments this year or they don't have a community which can handle?, like recently I visited to Mauritius and click some UNESCO rated monuments, can I upload these photographs under Wiki loves competition or say for a suggestion can non participating countries photograph which I already mentioned that don't have sufficient Wiki community can we include those countries monument photograph and some volunteers can do the formalities of declaring winners of like we can say winners of non participating countries category.

Wiki Loves Monuments is based on the concept that we have national competitions that make the selection. At this point, there is no option to submit photographs outside that selection.
However, there are some countries where the communities join forces (such as in the Levant or Albania/Kosovo).

I have a number of 56 currently (Tanzania was the last addition). I don't expect that number to change any more.

The first year we organized in Iran was very last minute. Romaine helped us a lot that year and we managed to make WLM happen. Don't give up. There are not that mamy feelings that match the excitement of not knowing what will happen when your banners turn on (will anyone participate really?) and seeing the first photos coming in. :)
