It seems to me that if any materials were developed for social media, they
would not usually end up on Wikimedia Commons :) Their life span is too
short - to attract attention, and (maybe) sometimes they will even be on
the border of copyright violation... and even out of scope.
Maybe something like this fact sheet will be useful?
(You can also post parts of it, like separate facts, like:
- this is the largest photo contest in the world (and a picture of
Guinness World Records seal
- more than 40 countries are taking part in it (and a map
and this is the first time Slovenia joined
- Slovenia has xxx monuments, and only xx are illustrated (or some other
locally relevant statistics) etc, to motivate people and make them aware)
This video is not country specific, so it can be shared. But you might want
to translate the subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnzQf9VbH9g
Our team has been posting pictures from the previous years as a countdown
for the start of the contest, but they are not really reusable, I am
Especially as you are doing your first contest...
Overall, this category was supposed to be useful for situations like that,
but I doubt it is populated enough and regularly:

we're organizing WLM in Slovenia for the first time, and I was
wondering... does anyone have any promo imagery for publishing on social
media that I could adapt to our language? Browsing Commons yielded nothing.
