This was probably partially caused by the sitenotice being activated a little too early :) Also, it seems like Russia will not be able to participate for now, so the load from there will disappear. 

Hay, are we sure that next time the sitenotice gets activated we won't have this problem? Maybe you can coordinate with beria at what time it should get activated so that can be set :)

thing look back to normal now. I've enabled a caching plugin for
wlm.eu on WordPress, our load average is below 1 again.

For your information: we got over 7000 pageviews in a few hours,
mostly originating from ru.wiki and en.wiki.
