Hi,

Good point Sara ! I really need to write a QuickStatements vs. OpenRefine guideline someday...

In a nutshell: both tools are similar and used to import data into Wikidata. QuickStatements is (arguably) a bit easier and quicker to use but less powerful (it doesn't spot duplicates, don't do reconciliation, etc.).
In the end, I guess it depends on how many monuments of Malta already have items on Wikidata and what/how much data you want to import.
If there are more than ~20 % with items then creating duplicates is a bad idea (more time will be lost afterward to spot and correct the duplicate) and you should prefer OpenRefine. But you can also try to spot the duplicate before and still use QuickStatement.

In both cases, if you need help, don't hesitate to ask.

Meanwhile, here is a quick query showing items already on Wikidata for things in Malta with an heritage designation : https://w.wiki/Y7$ (I see 10 type of heritage in this list: 3 being related to World Heritage Site, one for Nature, one for Inventory and types who looks more-or-less like the heritage in England : Class A, Class B, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3) which allows to do this first draft map : https://w.wiki/Y85

Cheers, ~nicolas

Hi there,

You could also use Quickstatements - works best in Firefox: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:QuickStatements

You can then also build a list with the ListeriaBot, one example with an embedded upload link with a campaign would be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Braveheart/List_of_provincial_parks_of_British_Columbia

Hi!

Take a look at OpenRefine, it can map spreadsheet data to Wikidata items/properties

As of properties to use, look at similar items like this https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3744576

Hi everyone,

We're looking for some advice/help/guidance - we would like to update our list of monuments that are eligible for this year's edition of WLM to include a list of properties scheduled by Malta's Planning Authority. We currently have this list as a spreadsheet - what is the best way to go about transferring this to Wikidata and Wikipedia? Is there a way to bulk transfer this list?

Thanks,
Neville
