Hi everyone,

We just wrapped up an amazing GLAMcamp DC. Not only was the weekend productive and inspiring, but we were able to solidify some solid plans for this year's WLM.
Buh, I missed it. Where can I find the detailed essay about the whole glamcamp? ;-)
Here is a brief yet disorganized summary:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012_in_the_United_States looks good :-)
Would be nice to port the complete NRHP lists (like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places_listings_in_Erie_County,_New_York) to the Spanish Wikipedia (and maybe other languages too). Any Spanish speakers who like this idea? I can do the technical part, but my Spanish sucks so there I could use some help ;-)
According to my statistics we have 86144 listings in the database. A listing can be multiple buildings (a historic distric). We have 35779 (41%) with a photo so plenty of buildings left to take a photo of. Full statistics at http://toolserver.org/~erfgoed/api/api.php?action=statistics&stcountry=us&format=html&limit=0 . And of course you can use the api to include a map at your website like at http://www.wikilovesmonuments.nl/monumenten/
That's just a couple of lines at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_country_logos to add countries. Not sure if adding 50 state flags is a good idea. I'd rather have just the USA flag.

National Park Service? Do you already have contacts there? Would be nice to get in touch with them. I know the NRHP project at the English Wikipedia has several questions.
Cool. Would love to see a lot of Wiki Takes events taking place! I created https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/Local_events as a placeholder so we can keep track of them later on.

Other details are rather unimportant right now, but we've got the ball rolling. Short term goal right now:

I am seeking help, because I am not savvy with graphic design, to modify the WLM logo to feature "United States" someplace in the logo. Please let me know if you can help (or be bold and do it ;-) ).

Do you really want to change the branding this way?

This week I have other priorities, but I hope when I'm back in DC I can get the website content started. Benoit and I will be speaking with each other. I also know we want to have a meeting at Wikimania about this. Perhaps after we get the web presence part started, a Skype can be arranged or an IRC talk for those interested in volunteering for the US/Canada events. We also are going to have cross-border events too :)

We hang out in #wikilovesmonuments on Freenode

I hope the US people don't mind me being bold about this, I just want to get the ball rolling, and I know that myself, Kaldari, Benoit and Pharos have agreed that "let's do this and get it started now," is the best policy. Time is ticking!

Exactly! I'm sure they love to see you do all the hard work ;-) I hope you get a lot of people on board.
