Wiki Loves Monuments 2011 in Spain has its winners! The jury after a tremendous work reviewing and evaluating nearly 18 000 photographs has reached a decision. They asked us to transmit the message that the work of the participants has been amazing. This project has been a great success for all of us!

These are the winners:

2nd prize:  http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Monasterio_de_Veruela.jpg Monastery of Veruela, in Vera de Moncayo, Zaragoza.

3rd prize: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Castillo_de_Almansa_sobre_el_cerro_del_Aguila.jpg Castle of Almansa, in Almansa, Albacete.

The other seven pictures that will receive a diploma and complete the ten that will be submitted for Spain to the European contest are:

The winner of the special prize to the user who submitted more pictures of different monuments has been Deosringas, with an incredible record number of 222 different Spanish monuments photographied!

The prize ceremony will take place at Plasencia (Cáceres) next November 5th, and all of you are welcome to join us and attend it!
