A third bug I experienced few months ago: there is no thumbnail for
large pictures (larger than 15MB), for example:

It wasn't my picture (file), I just uploaded it for the author's request.
I thought it was because of the size of the picture and I uploaded in a smaller resolution and size here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Brunszvik-kast%C3%A9ly_2_1.jpg , and I realized my smaller version is OK, so it was because of the file size. What a false conclusion! :)
