Hawaii don't follow daylight saving time, like New York, thus the difference is 6 hours in winter and 5 in summer. Just to be sure:
*Starting time at UTC-10: 12:01 am September 1 in Hawaii = 6:01 am in NYC = 2012-09-01T10:00 UTC
*Closing time at UTC-10: 12:01 am October 1 in Hawaii = 6:01 am in NYC = 2012-10-01T10:00 UTC
Right?
