Hi Lodewijk,

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I remember only one WordPress template being offered, and that was something like 2012. Are there newer ones? We were actually looking to improve the site this year, but doing our own redesign might take a while—and WordPress is a pretty good option actually. Not saying that there shouldn't be a Commons option as well of course. The more the better!

Hi all,

One of the hard things that national teams run into year after year, is setting up a good landing page. In the past we have offered wordpress templates to help teams with a good default option.

However, we want to slowly move towards having an excellent default option on Wikimedia Commons. Who would be willing to help design that and set it up in an easy to edit way? I'd love to brainstorm a little more with one or two others about this, but I was thinking some basic requirements should be:

- setting up the landing page has to be possible without extensive knowledge of wiki markup or templates
- it has to work in both RTL and LTR (or we create two versions, fine with me too)
- it has to support multiple languages
- it needs to have a super clear workflow for participants: point out the basics of the competitions, where to find the monuments and how to upload.
- be low maintenance and easy to set up, with possibility to expand as a country has a more complex setup/requirements.

Who would be willing and able to help out? Please join the conversation here: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T198028

Thanks!

Lodewijk
