Hello everyone, I'm Sven and I just joined this mailing list.

I very much like the idea of compiling a list of endangered monuments/cultural heritage sites, and believe that we should expand the page that Maarten created to include other vulnerable sites from other parts of the world. It might even be valuable to create some sort of incentive (perhaps a special WLM prize for whomever takes the best photo of a monument on the endangered list) in order to make sure that the most vulnerable monuments/cultural heritage sites are photo-documented. In case anyone here has not read it, the Wikipedia Signpost Op-Ed "There is a deadline" [1] focuses on this issue.

Cheers,

Sven Manguard

I went ahead and created https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/7_Most_Endangered_Monuments to keep track. I added these links
