That would be great. We talked about producing a version of those maps with OSM instead of Google maps, but it seems harder to use OSM maps.

Luca Delucchi (an Italian member of OSM Foundation, in copy since he is not on this list) produced today this map for Italy: http://geodati.fmach.it/wikilovemonuments/index.html
I think that with his help adapting the code for other countries should be feasible. =)
