Hi Vladimir and Stasie,

sorry for my delayed reply. Welcome to Wiki Loves Monuments! I hope that there will be more interest from Russian editors - if there is any way we can help, please let us know.

WLM is a federative contest - they are basically several national contests under a European umbrella contest. For the national contest, you should pick prizes that work best for Russia. There are several ideas available on the project pages of Commons, at the minutes of the May Meeting in Berlin.

For the European prizes, we're still working on the details, but afaik we already have a confirmed contribution by Europeana for a signiticant prize and there are some sponsors interested. Unfortunately there are no details known yet.

with kind regards,

Lodewijk

Dear colleagues!

I would like to inform you that Wikimedia Russia joined WLM too.

Coordinator is Stasie Lvova.

Current link to the project is: http://ru.wikimedia.org/wiki/WLM11

We have a base of monuments, however, some fields there are incomplete.
The project is announced in Wikimedia projects and in sister project (Letopisi.ru) as well.

I don't see too much interest from the Russian Wikimedia community yet, but probably we will manage to enjoy significant external interest.

I would like to ask you about your approaches to prizes. What exact prizes do you expect to provide to the winners?
