Dear all,
we came across an interesting issue. Apparently, the Slovene campain attracted an author whose freely licensed pictures were transferred from Flickr almost a year ago by a long-time user. Naturally, I'd like to keep the new pictures which were uploaded in good faith, so that the author wouldn't be offended by deletions, and that the campaign results would be better. You think that Commons admins could be persuaded to delete the older instances instead?
Here's one example: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Spodnje_Gorenjce_hamlet_in_Semi%C4%8D_(43519825290).jpg (old) and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Podru%C5%BEni%C4%8Dna_cerkev_Sv._Jo%C5%BEef.jpg (new). There's a couple more.
What do you think can be done?
Thanks,
Jernej
