Thanks Ganesh,

There's also a conversation going on here, that you may want to look at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Historic_sites/Nepal#Merged_lists

Thanks all for making the lists move! One less concern, and people can now also more easily find information about Nepal's heritage.

Yes, the monument should be enlisted according to new administrative division. Let's work on it to reduce future works and to reduce confusion as well.

For the time being, I moved about half of them, I expect to be done over the weekend. I think the obvious next step is to reorganize them in terms of the new administrative division if possible. Also, I think there is some mess in the pages over the Kathmandu, but I will move them last and make one more effort to understand what is related to what.

Great news,
Thanks Biplav, Nabin and all for added citations. Let's work on the remaining lists pages.

Hi All,
The draft articles have been updated with sources. Would like to request to move the articles to the main space.

Dear Lodewijk, Karthik, Nicolas and all,
Please refer the pages below. I have put the citations of reference that I have used while making the monument list back in 2013.
I'd request to move the articles to the main space.

I hope I will put the citation of other books by the end of the day.

With best regards

(update: Yaroslav is helping to restore the pages now! Yay :) But help with creating proper articles is very much appreciated)

Thanks for the thoughts, Nicolas.

Right now, some help to get these pages restored and then helping to edit (add reference and introduction) & move them would be great. Not sure if that needs admins.

To answer your questions:
* I'm actually not sure if there's another list in Nepali. But those lists are language sensitive, so having an English list on newiki wouldn't make a lot of sense. I guess you also wouldn't appreciate those on frwiki? ;) That being said, there are some 123 languages being spoken in Nepal.
* The lists for Kosi have been restored before the admin realized it was 200+ pages, and decided it needed more discussion. But the good part is that you can now see what all the other lists look like. It is also an opportunity to show what they can become. An example would be the Indian list I linked, I think. But it needs some creativity.
* There is a source, in Nepali :) It is linked in the list of lists (of lists)

TLDR; What can we do? (expecially for someone like me who isn't admin on enwp and don't really know Nepal).

That sad:( I'm not sure what I can do. Here some remarks (not sure if it helps) :
* why go on enwp (which is notoriously complicated, and more and more so) and not on newp - it would seems more logical and it's probably easier there ?
* some list have not been deleted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:List_of_Monuments_in_Kosi_Zone ; indeed it's empty and look abandonned :/ I've looked to add photo and other improvement but my knowledge of Nepal. Can someone give some pointer and example of what can be done and how?
* as always on Wikipedia, the problem is source... Is there any avalaible source for these lists?

Hey all,

A while back we discussed the lists in Nepal. Unfortunately someone at enwiki deleted them a few days ago (see some notifications here) because the 'draft has not been edited for six months'. A requirement I at least wasn't aware of. These articles were moved from the project namespace to the draft namespace last year, after this discussion

Right now, a discussion is ongoing how to resolve this on admins noticeboard, because apparently it's normal to delete 200+ pages immediately, but restoring them requires discussion :) Some helpful suggestions and actual help to turn these drafts into normal mainspace lists would be appreciated.

I assume it should be possible to turn these lists into encyclopedic lists, given that there's a good reference available (see the main list of lists). An introduction similar to that of Indian Monuments should also be doable.

Any takers?
