Thanks for your help Maarten, and I've noted your preference for discussions to go via the list.

Hi Maarten
Many thanks, that is a fantastic start!
You're welcome. I prefer to keep the discussions on the mailing list. That way other people can learn from it or help out.
Having discussed this with others on the (so far informal) UK team, and also with WMUK staff, one of the main problems we are going to have is that none of us have the real technical expertise to accomplish the sort of thing you have been doing. We can get hold of that raw data, but importing that into the main WLM database, and providing user tools and so on may be beyond what we can achieve without outside help (or, at least, no-one in the UK with that expertise has yet volunteered to help out).
You should focus on getting the data and putting it on Wikipedia as lists. Usually getting the data is the difficult part.
For the next steps see https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Monuments_database/Structured_lists . Many countries managed to get this done so I'm sure someone is willing to assist you with this.
Your reputation has preceded you, and I know that you are extremely busy, but you couldn’t give us a hand, could you - or perhaps suggest someone else who might have the skills to do that?
I hope someone on this list well respond to this :-)
