Dear WLE community!
Great news! Wiki Loves Earth 2023 international photo contest has started!🥳
13 countries started their local competitions 6 days ago and we have the first uploads!
👉You can check participating countries here: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/.../Participating_countries.
👉And check out uploaded images so far: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/.../Category:Images_from....
And also we are announcing the special nomination “Human rights and environment”!🌍
In 2023, Wiki Loves Earth international photo contest again supports the initiative WikiForHumanRights, which partners with the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Its goal is to raise awareness of nature protection and human impacts on nature. When we protect the environment, we also protect the fundamental human rights we all have — rights to water, life, food, housing, and other fundamental rights that rely on a clean, healthy environment.
📸And this year, we accept photos not only from the countries where the main contest is going but also from the whole world!
Technically, participants would be able to upload images through the “wle-special” campaign.
Check out this page for more detailed information such as criteria for images, examples of images, important notes, how to upload, etc: 👉https://commons.wikimedia.org/.../Human_rights_and....
Also, you can check the winners of the previous year’s special nomination here: 👉https://diff.wikimedia.org/.../wiki-loves-earth-2022.../.
Good luck to each local team and each participant!
Let’s love Earth together💚
