This and similar matters are troublesome as most American scholars of American Communism are fairly revisionist and tend to discount the material that is coming out of KGB archives. So its not hard at all to find authority which contradicts or minimizes such material.

However, there is no reason that Fiske--or anyone else interested--can't add to the Hiss article that "According to the KGB archives, [whatever they say]....some scholars [identify if possible] question this because [reason]." Our usual Wiki editing/NPOV approach.
