It doesn't make much sense to me. By all means enforce US copyright
laws. But banning Chinese users because they profess to breaking US
laws? Nonsensical.
I was thinking more along the lines of being sued because we
"facilitated"
drug users in some way, not because they said they smoked weed.
If you follow the same argument it would be wrong to facilitate
pedophilia, but one could still say that he is a pedophile.
The reasons for doing something should go beyond fear of punishment or
of being sued. Being consistent with one's own personal ethical
standards is far more important.
