If you make the translation, thats no problem at
original author has no rights over translations.
I think you might be mistaken - that would lead to a logical
contradiction, as you could translate back into the original language,
and claim copyright over the result, which would be very similar to
You own the copyright in the translation, but it can still
infringe on the copyright of the original.
