Contra the proposition that "adminship is no big deal" (with which I, of course,
agree), an article in the June issue of [[Milwaukee Magazine]] evaluates the history of
our [[Milwaukee, Wisconsin]] article, referencing discussions on the talk page and
offering the assessment of a Milwaukee historian that the article is altogether accurate
at the moment. The article mentions an editor who has contributed a good bit to the
article and notes that, in view of his many edits, he has been "awarded the
presitgious title of ''site administrator''" (the new issue
doesn't show up on the website [
http://www.milwaukeemagazine.com/] for a while, but
I'll post a link when it's up). I'm certain that the admin in question, for
whom they don't provide a user name, didn't choose the appellative
"prestigious", but it gives me hope that my decision to take a break from
university studies, in part to edit WP, was the right one; sure, my resumé won't have
a degree, but someday it might have "site [sic] administrator".
Cordially,
Joe Hiegel
