I'd say it should be removed. I just removed, without logging in, the whole
paragraph, which was nothing more than speculation regarding this "perception".

So what's the solution? Are we destined to keep speculative
paragraphs like the one in question in the encyclopedia?
I'm going to try removing the paragraph completely again, and leaving
a note on the talk page.
