On reflection, I really wasn't thinking about the early "getting settled"
issues so much as the new person who gets into some serious editing
conflicts.
You are right, matching up new persons with compatible veterans would be a
challenge. But I would like to hope that, within the Community, there are
enough fair-minded, patient ones with the interactive skills to do the job.
