That was me. I don't believe that non-liberals are stupid. At the time I was banned (approx. 1 min after my account was created), I had made no edits aside from creating my userpage and editing User:Liberal's talk page. I intended to use the account to make completely NPOV edits on articles related US politics to prove that usernames are irrelavent, but I was banned before I could do that. I started with User:Liberal, but JamesDay and Angela said that that wouldn't be enough to prove my point (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Liberal/deny_freedom_of_speech).
Then, without *any* discussion but this one post, I was banned. The exact opposite of my point. This sets two bad precedents: banning users because of their usernames, and banning a logged in user without any discussion (I thought that the RK ban set that second one, but now I've found out there was discussion). If you uphold the ban, I will leave wikipedia. I could easily circumvent the ban by restarting my router, but if you really want me to leave, I will. Some people voiced concerns that I used two accounts to do this, and I'm sorry for that; I didn't think of that. Camembert said that this was a childish point to make, but I don't see why. Maybe this is because I am a child. Maybe Wikipedia isn't a place for children. LDan
Since I was banned, 5 more people said I was acting childish.
I guess I do see why it's childish now, but this whole debate about banning people because you don't like their username is also childish. LDan
