Mmm. Most people don't out of politeness rather than rules. (But then I once corrected a broken link on User:RickK, noted I had done so on the talk page and got a thank-you :-)
Also, 3RR doesn't seem to apply in one's own userspace. Which is not what the 3RR says, but it fits with userspace as a *personal* thing (for project purposes, whatever those may be).
I had mine protected for a while because I could, then read the arguments that it was unwiki. And it wasn't like the vandalisations lasted long anyway. So people can edit mine, but I'll probably revert changes 'cos I like it how it is ;-)
