I notice SPOV seems to be being used to mean "scientific point of view"
and "sympathetic point of view". Should these possibly be disambiguated
to SciPOV and SymPOV?

It wasn't me, but it's still exactly right ;-)
This proposal to purge the word "pseudoscience" smacks of
Sympathetic Point Of View. We don't do that here.
