To my opinion, and as I've already said, having the workshop immediately after the panel/open discussions at EIE in Saturday is a good way to have enough community members in both meetings. It can be advantage to those who would like to come from other cities (coming and leaving the same day). And generally, it will be easier to gather everyone in one place on the same day, than gather the same people on two different days. Besides that, the previous discussions will give "food" for the users-only discussion.
After all the open discussions were ment to be part of *one* central meeting (the Sunday date came up by just moving and forgeting a page with names :-)  )

Update: my hotel (the Best Western Plus Embassy) can provide a conference room with Internet, a projector, and cold/hot drinks, at a cost of ~150 Euro for 30 people.  (I said "30" as an estimate -- more would not be a problem).  WMF is happy to pay this if that would help have the meeting with the most people.  So that's an option!

Cheers,

Hi.

While the basic activity I envision for the workshop is just a group conversation on several topics, I think wifi would be great if we find we need to demonstrate something online.  But it's not crucial, I think.

What _is_ crucial, to my mind, is a maximal number of _community_ participants.  I would urge you all to make this the primary factor in determining the final date and time.  If the time where most people can make it seems impractical for lack of a venue, we can figure something out (e.g. a conference room in my hotel (or a different hotel)).  So please, try to discuss this rapidly (on-wiki and/or in Greek is fine, of course) to make sure we can make the most of the workshop.  I think some of the topics to be discussed are crucial for the future of our work in Greece.

Thank you!

(I'm going to sleep in a little bit, but I'll be checking e-mail again on my way to the airport, in about 12 hours, and will of course be online (assuming the hotel wifi works :)) as soon as I arrive.)

I am particularly eager to ensure there is enough time to seriously discuss community issues in the Wikipedians-only forum.  That's what I called the "workshop" part in earlier communications.  Note that this is quite apart from a more social gathering, which can take place in a more relaxed (or noisy) atmosphere, and which I would hope would not be exclusive of anyone.

Hello Asaf,

we are looking for the best place and time to have this workshop and discussion, in Saturday or Sunday.

I remind you that we'll be having the meeting/panel_presentations/open_discussions (including third parties) event, Saturday 10:30-14:00 in a National Hellenic Research Foundation room.

Please tell us how do you think of the ideal place and what will you (we) need: wifi? projector? nothing?
