Hi all! We have an important update to share with the community
regarding the Wikidata Query Service scaling process: we closed our
study phase and published a working paper,[1] in which we short-listed
and analyzed four potential candidates for replacing Blazegraph. You
can find out a summary of the evaluation study process and results
here: [2]
The paper addresses the technical and user requirements for the WDQS
backend, gathered over the last seven years of operation, as well as
the implications for the system architectures. These topics, the
process for evaluation, and the resulting detailed assessments of the
possible alternatives are discussed in the document.
We encourage all community members to review and comment on this
paper,[1] by posting feedback on the discussion page.[3] We also plan
on hosting an online feedback session on *Wednesday April 13, 2022 at
18:00 UTC* (link to the meeting available at [2]).
Of course, we are available for any clarification or request of
information needed.
Cheers,
