Yes, this is how this property is meant to be used.

On a personal note, I don't really like this property, in almost all cases, this is just explicitly storing data that is already implicitly there (if two senses of two lexemes in different languages are linked to the same items, then it's a  translation).

Plus, translation is always a tricky business (Traduttore, traditore), I wouldn't base any tools solely on Lexemes translation.
