Finn, Denny and All,

If an academic linguistic researcher, or a computational linguist, for example, wanted to added another language to Wikidata/Wikibase/Wikipedia's 295 languages (7,099 living languages minus 295 Wikipedia languages = 6804 remaining living languages), say, in the new - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/ - which is planning wiki universities and schools for open teaching and learning in all 7,099 languages+, how would they please do this?

Either in
Wordnet -
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Property_proposal/Wordnet_synset_ID - or -

Wikidata-lexeme -
http://wikidata-lexeme.wmflabs.org/index.php/Main_Page - or -

Babelnet - or -

(or possibly anticipating Google Neural Machine Translation and TensorFlow at some point) ?

Thank you, Scott

I have written an email to Roberto Navigli of BabelNet and asked him about BabelNet and Wikidata, particularly about mass-upload.

I think we could ask either Yago or BabelNet or both whether they would be receptive to release their mappings under a CC0 license, so it can be integrated into Wikidata. What I wonder is, if they do that, whether we wanted to have that data or not.

One problem with BabelNet is that its licence is restrictive, being
    the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0)

    working at a research institution.

    Yago

, which has the less restrictive license Attribution 3.0 Unported
    (CC BY 3.0),
has links between Wikipedia categories and Wordnet.  Unfortunately,
    it does
not carry these links through to regular Wikipedia pages.   I've
    been toying
with making this last connection, which would be easy for those
    categories
that a linked to Wikipedia page.

PS:  Strangely the Yago logo has a non-commercial license.  I don't
    know why
    this was done.
