I think in order for this to work, we would need to create Wikidata pages that link to Wikipedia:Meetup event pages, I think.

1. Is this possible?

2. Do other chapters do this?

We don't typically use Meta #shudder for event pages so it's all on-Wiki (en-Wiki) for maximum editor onboarding. So that might be an advantage.

I think a bot could definitely do that, and e.g. pywikibot has classes
to create/edit coordinate values.

This page is kind of hard to use (and huge, probably that's why Lua is
unhappy) - I'd recommend using a tool like SQUID above
(https://tools.wmflabs.org/sqid) - much nicer way to approach it IMO.
